She Was Wrong

26 July 2009 4 Comments

In this song, I tell the story of a young woman who risks her future on a one night stand. She becomes pregnant.
Listen to “She Was Wrong” as sung by Linda Davis at the bottom of this page.

How many times do we hear this story? These young women are scared to death, and without any support in their homes and sometimes their churches they soon find themselves on the street looking for a way out. The only hope they find is on a discreet sign hung on building without windows. The sign says “Planned Parenthood”. There must be so much guilt behind those walls. What other business (and believe me it is a business) would be so low key about self promotion? The sad truth is that they don’t really even have to advertise. They get plenty of business without it.

Recently Planned Parenthood has balked at the push to require them to show patients Ultrasounds of their little unborn babies. Why would they have a problem with this? Suddenly the unborn child becomes real, alive, and almost… human!

Faith based clinics are popping up all across America and they need our support! They get no government funding, unlike Planned Parenthood who receives millions. They not only work as Christ’s servants for the lost, they also help women to learn the skills needed to keep their babies after they are born. They also help to place unwanted babies for adoption. Find a Crisis Pregnancy Center near you and see what you can do to help. I truly believe God will bless you for doing what you can. Do it “For the least of these”.

Hello, Rod, Thank you as I am yet listening to another little master storyteller’s piece. :-) Very touching…..very REAL. Your gift has not only INCREASED over the years, but these songs have a cut-to-the-chase clarity and universal imagery that is really showing that as we get older as writers….some lucky amongst us (like you, dear friend) are getting BETTER and BETTER!!! :-) :-) Yes, I believe God IS blessing you with this gift to His purpose. I was just re-reading that we are to commit all our works to Him….and I feel you have been doing this in the utmost sincerity.
    Rod — You’re on a BEAM…and it shows. Keep these hits a-coming!
Really great stuff, Rod. I’m so proud to call you friend!
Take care and Dave & I will be continuing to pray for your eye procedure recovery.
And yes, my cataracts and Lyme disease have made it very difficult to drive at night or in the rain. It’s humbing if not humiliating to realize I had so much freedom behind the wheel at age 16 and here at 50+…I’m like the folks we teens honked at! Ha-ha-ha! Oh, well…such is life…And life is ALWAYS GOOD….NO MATTER WHAT. As Holocaust icon, Anne Frank said: “Despite all, I believe that people are really good at heart.”
We all must remain of good cheer in these hard economic times in America. If we could all have the courage & hope of little Anne Frank. I pray for that.
    Take care…all for now…
    Bonnie :-)
