I am a real story song kind of guy! When I was traveling back from Nashville after a very cool session with great musicians and a great studio, I was feeling real proud of my accomplishment and sure that my new quiver of songs would hit the mark and I would end my cycle of endless near misses and “almost made its”.
As I sat in the concourse at The Nashville International Airport I found myself sitting next to a man who was very poorly dressed, unshaved, unshowered, and basically …

I love to look out of my bedroom window at sailboats on Puget Sound. It can be a bitter sweet experience for me though. I never really wanted to be a cowboy as my song “In Another Life” suggests. When I was a kid I wanted to sail around the world
and journey to foreign lands all over the globe, anywhere a boat could take me. I even once had the sailboat capable of such a journey.
Many years later I now have a wife and two precious children. The image …

In this song, I tell the story of a young woman who risks her future on a one night stand. She becomes pregnant.
Listen to “She Was Wrong” as sung by Linda Davis at the bottom of this page.
How many times do we hear this story? These young women are scared to death, and without any support in their homes and sometimes their churches they soon find themselves on the street looking for a way out. The only hope they find is on a discreet sign hung on building without windows. …

I get so busy sometimes that I begin to forget to listen to my children. Their daily interruptions can be very frustrating and there are times I just don’t want to have to listen to kid talk. Usually they are asking questions about silly things that don’t really interest me like “Where is that stick I found that looks like a snake?” or “Is the new Transformer movie rated G?” Or how about this one: “When do you think the neighbor kids are coming home from vacation so we can …

When we signed the Declaration of Independence, We were still a nation dependent on God’s providence. As we have advanced through history, we have learned to control nature and use it to our advantage. God has continued to bless us even up until present times. We, however have turned away from Him and have come to the point in our history where many are wanting to yank him out of every aspect of their lives. Atheists are working hard to make America forget there even is a God!
After 9/11 …

I was excited the day I learned that Rickey Lee Watson had recorded “What I Love About America”. He is a strong force in the Country Music community and relies solidly on his Christian faith. He is an inspiration where ever he goes, and is giving Americans hope for a stronger nation through the message of this song and his personal commitment to our military!

We do come from all different backgrounds and cultures but we have one thing in common….. Freedom! We are a melting pot, that is true, …

I want to share a moment in time with you. This is my song “USA TODAY” as performed by Lee Greenwood on the OPRY LIVE SHOW on GAC TV on August 27, 2008 right after singing his patriotic song “God Bless The USA”. I was honored that Lee loved my song enough to make it his single and release it on the 25th anniversary of the release of  his first legendary song which is now second only to “The Star Spangled Banner”  in popularity nationwide according to recent poles.   …

I like to get a little autobiographical when I write a song. This one kind of captures the essence of what makes my relationship with my wife so special. I was always taught to write what I know. Well, I know a lot about what I describe in the song “My Stuff”. I hope you will be blessed and edified as you listen to this heart felt love song, and may it bring you and your spouse closer together as you both discover what stuff your marriage is made …

I often have dreams about loved ones who are woven like threads into the tapestry of my childhood.  The ones I loved in the best ways I knew how, by listening to their stories, singing silly songs around the campfire, riding in crowded station wagons to far off places to visit with them for a week or two, or fumbling through loud and out of tune trumpet solos to entertain them. Thank God some of them were hard of hearing!
How about you? Do you have memories of those who, …
